Manjunath and I have been meaning to do something these hols - you know, just something to feel a sense of satisfaction before diving into regular coursework and stuff next semester. So, we finally decided to attempt a quadrifilar helix for APT reception, and here we are!

At school, we are taught that parallel rays incident on the mirror, after reflection, pass through the focus of the mirror, and that irrespective of the position of these parallel rays, the position of the focus does not change. But that is not quite true. It is just an approximation.

Suppose fractal antennas which can operate in the visible light region could be designed and fabricated, we could have fractal antennas on top of all buildings to absorb solar power instead of using solar panels!
