The Site So Far

It all started out sharing little pieces of my work through a box.net account I had. That was back in the first year of college. Three years thence, in the present, I have a reasonably running site, and that with my own top level domain too! Perhaps the journey was slow, perhaps I could have got to this point faster, but I think I've enjoyed every moment of the path that got me here. Personally, maintaining my online presence here at this site has been a deeply enriching experience.
I'm also in the process of moving from hard coded html to the Drupal CMS. That perhaps is a bit of a leap of faith. I am yet to figure out what exactly I have gained by making this transition, though. :-) Just hoping that on the long run this will make mainteinance of my site easier, and also perhaps contribute a little to the bling-bling factor of the site. ;-) Most of the work porting to Drupal is done. There are still some final touches and refinements to be done before I can replace the old site. The work, I expect, will be done in a week or two.
Once that's done, the plans ahead involve running my own server on a BeagleBoard with solar power. But the BeagleBoard plans are pretty long term (possibly more than a year), and involve a lot of work in terms of getting reliable solar power implemented at home, getting my home (and the associated internet connection) ready to house a 24x7 server, etc.
So, what else can I say? The future is always a bit of a mystery, I guess… We'll see…
Good day.
