I ain't much of a photographer and have only a casual involvement in photography but my recent "industrial visit" to Munnar raises one question. In such a place as Munnar, with all its scenery and natural ecstasy, why do people still continue to shoot pictures of themselves?

A tree with moss grown all over the trunk. There are a lot of smaller plants around the tree and everything is wet from a recent rain.

I ain't much of a photographer and have only a casual involvement in photography but my recent "industrial visit" to Munnar raises one question. In such a place as Munnar, with all its scenery and natural ecstasy, why do people still continue to shoot pictures of themselves? Why does every photograph have to involve a gang posing in front of something? It sounds kinda narcissistic to me…

I understand that people want to take back memories of their visit and want some sort of evidence that they were actually there. But must that involve every photograph ever shot? Methinks it de-emphasizes the scenery and distorts the theme of the place (in this case, the natural beauty of Munnar).

Anyway, here's the link to the photos I shot in Munnar. Decide for yourself if I have done any better a job. And do tell me! :-)
